I have a drawing provided to my by an Architect so it has every kind of layer an AIA client would put into it. I seem to be having trouble getting the print outs that I want. I need everything to be black and I have selected the layer a certain line is on and set it's color to green (3). When I print the layout tab I use a CTB file which is supposed to print green lines to black, but they are still coming out as green in the print preview and PDF files I create.

Maybe TrueColors were assigned rather than Index Colors?

Just to cover all the bases, have you checked these green items to make sure their color is set to ByLayer and not overridden?

Look at posts above 1st but a quick dirty while you find the proper answer if it is ctb related open up a copy of a CTB you can select every pen using hold down shift, then set colours to black.

or you could try setting your printer/plotter to GRAYSCALE

Post a small sample of the lines giving the problem.
