ripfree Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 The work I do uses a lot of polyline arcs. The old (2008) Autocad and ACAD LT allows you to see a sihlouette of the pline arc during creation. 2009 seems to NOT allow this visibility. Anyone know if it can be switched on? How? Thanks! Quote
CmdrDuh Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 what is your plinewid system var set to? Quote
ripfree Posted January 14, 2009 Author Posted January 14, 2009 It's set to .008". Interestingly, it's only the ARC option where the sihlouette isn't visible. Straight plines preview just fine. Quote
CmdrDuh Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 8/1000th of an inch might be to small to be seen on the screen as well Quote
ripfree Posted January 15, 2009 Author Posted January 15, 2009 These polylines are only .002" wide, 1/4 what an 8 mil line would be. It's not that the lines are too small to see that's preventing the visibility. Quote
CarlB Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 Don't tell me DRAGMODE bit someone else today! Seriously that is one explanation fon no arc visibility, so see that DRAGMODE is set to Auto (2). Quote
ripfree Posted January 16, 2009 Author Posted January 16, 2009 Dragmode is set to in both ACAD 2008 and ACAD 2009. These screen captures show how, in 2008, the pline width is "previewed" while in 2009 it is not. Note that in these tests, the final arc endpoint has not been snapped yet. In 2009, once you snap the arc endpoint, then and only then does the pline arc appear. This is useless for anyone doing electronic layout. Any ideas out there? Quote
