Sarah H Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 I have a pretty big symmetrical floorplan. When I mirror the plan, if the current layer is 'dims' then SOME of the layers in the mirrored part change to 'dims', but not all. The mirrored section is approx. 800 objects, is this too many for CAD to handle? Using autoCAD LT 2006 Quote
A1DWG Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 Hello, Its a new one to me, firstly I have just tried mirroring some 1000 or so objects and AutoCAD seemed fine, although the drawing was a small file size. The items that have changed layers, are they all blocks? polylines? text or is it a random selection of everything? Does it happen in other drawings? You may have to post the drawing to let others have a look. Quote
darn-net Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 I may be possible you have overlapping objects on different layers. Normally users wouldn't see this because their 'SORTENTS' (object sorting variable) is set different than yours. I have mine normally set to 127 but was able to replicate your problem by changing this value to 0. Note this variable is undocumented in 2008 and the object sorting area in the options dialog box is missing also. So command line is your only option. Let us know if it worked.
