Longhair Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 Is there certification training software (like Autodesk Official Training Courseware (AOTC) ) available for SolidWorks? Quote
jkristia Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 I would like to know this too. I took the SW class at the local adult school (that is how I was able to purchase the student edition), but eventhough I'm only doing this as a hobby I would still like to actually become certified (if the price is reasonable). JD Mather Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 The beginner class + built in tutorials + experience should be = Associate level exam preparation CSWA http://www.solidworks.com/sw/support/796_ENU_HTML.htm There is a sample exam at link above. Be sure to know how to set units precision and interrogate your mass properties. CSWP is more of the same including know a bunch of stuff from Help screens that only VARs and geeks would know without looking it up. If you can travel to central PA, USA area I had 7 or 8 students pass the CSWA and 1 pass the CSWP recently. Quote
Longhair Posted January 16, 2009 Author Posted January 16, 2009 I have back problems that prevent me from sitting for long periods of time so taking a class isn't an option at the moment. Could you recommend some books to reinforce the tutorials? I don't have much CAD experience - took an AutoCAD class 10 year ago - but I have about 15 years of CNC machine experience (G&M Code programming, machine set up, running the machine) so picking it up shouldn't be much of a problem. JD Mather Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Matt Lombard SolidWorks Bible David Murray Inside SolidWorks There are also the tutorials in my signature - but they are getting a bit out of date as I haven't had time to keep them current. Quote
jkristia Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 check if your local adult school offers a class. The class I took was a self paced class which takes you through the tutorials and the lessons in this book http://files.solidworks.com/education/Student_Guide.pdf Jesper Quote
