Lee Mac Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 The only way I can get a good argument is if I am willing to pay for it like on that Monty Python skit about the Arguments. Haha, true. Quote
The Buzzard Posted February 2, 2009 Author Posted February 2, 2009 Thank You Lee_Mac, I got thru this code finally. I ran into some problems on the last function of the code and realized I needed to make some major changes. The function you provided for me to count the locations worked well from the start, But the other function that I found that counts the attribute values had some problems. I changed the last portion of the code to operate similar to your code and that did it. Also I fixed a problem when you make an incorrect selection, You would get an lentity nil error. I am now using ALERTs for this to let the user know that the block & layer being searched for was not found. I am providing a demo in the enclosed zip file for everyone to test it. The only quirk I did not like about this method was, That the blocks used for the totals were inserted on top of a footer block. This seems a bit tacky and I still need to find a way to get the program to find these blocks by way of attribute tag as well as block name and layer. This will allow the attribute tags to be placed in the footer block as one block and you would have less loose inserts in the drawing. Anyway I like the way it functions for now, But I need to get this issue fixed. It would make the program complete. Again Thanks for the help and code. The Buzzard CDL.zip Quote
