43st Posted March 14, 2018 Posted March 14, 2018 I have a 260Mb assembly worked up over the last few months (50' dia. sphere construction, mechanics, etc.). I would like to render some sectionplane cuts and AutoCad (2016) isn't up for it. I've bound and cleaned all the references, but each block flakes out in it's own way, cutting some objects and not cutting others. The worst part is waiting several minutes between each command just to see if it worked or not. Sometimes I can get a good conceptual viewbase section, but I'd like something rendered. Does Autocad have any type of working section plane other than the SECTIONPLANE command in model space? Outside of that.. Any recommended software that can actually do this? Navisworks? Showcase? Rhino even? Quote
ReMark Posted March 15, 2018 Posted March 15, 2018 Sections can be created using the BaseView command as well as the combination commands SolView/SolDraw. Quote
lrm Posted March 15, 2018 Posted March 15, 2018 If all else fails you can do a Boolean subtract of a big box, in stages if necessary, to get the section view you want. Quote
