i have had to change the name of my xref and it has dropped out of my drawing, i have deleted the old xref purged the drawing and ready to inserted the new renamed xref, hower it wont let me. i keep getting a a text box - substitute block name- XREF1, file name to long.

i need it to be same as architects as i have 15 building plans, i try purge the drawing but for some reason it wont allow me to insert xref as i want.

however if i insert another xref ( another floor) it works okay.

 

how can i fix this? thanks
