mdemco Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 I have a strange issue, well strange to me anyways. I am plotting some brochures for home plans and in paper space the text is what I would like, yet when I print I get some strange goth looking text. I did notice if I went in and changed my plot style to normal the text prints in a txt style, but all of the other determined line weights and such are wrong obviously. Is the setting for the text when plotting stored in the plot style or elsewhere? When I go into the plot style there is no option for changing the plotted text type. I am working in 09. Quote
ReMark Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 In the Text Style dialog box what is the Font Name and Font Style? Does the "sample text" (lower left corner) look correct? Quote
mdemco Posted January 23, 2009 Author Posted January 23, 2009 Font name = romand.shx Font style = Grayed out Text in lower left corner looks correct Quote
ReMark Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 What Styles are listed in the box in the upper left hand corner? One of them should be Standard. Quote
mdemco Posted January 23, 2009 Author Posted January 23, 2009 There is a standard, it is/was set on "p-text". I changed it to STANDARD and tried plotting and the text still came out in the goth style. There are also styles for the brochures I am trying to print, brochure t-text, brochure-text, brochure-title, they were all on some goth setting, I changed them all to .txt and it STILL prints in the goth stuff????? I also went into the block where the brochure title block is built and changed the text styles off of the goth style and it still prints in this stupid style. Quote
ReMark Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 You want to use Romand.shx right? When you highlight the style name that you want to use what font name is indicated? It almost sounds like someone saved (or changed it?) the Gothic style font under the wrong name. So you think you 've selected the correct style (at least name-wise) but the actual .shx file is one of the three Gothic.shx fonts that come standard with AutoCAD. Follow me? Quote
mdemco Posted January 23, 2009 Author Posted January 23, 2009 I went through all of the text styles in styles menu and made sure none had the goth style showing up as the .shx file. So whatever style I select, the Font Name shows as txt or trebuchet or the roman s or d. None are set to the TradeGoth it is still printing in. But if when I go to generate the pdf I change the plot style from the Brochure.ctb to None, the preview shows up with the text in txt.shx. I cant find any settings under the plot style to change the text style either. Quote
ReMark Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 There are no settings for text under Plot Style. Quote
mdemco Posted January 23, 2009 Author Posted January 23, 2009 I have went through the file for this title block and double checked all the text styles, and in the active drawing double checked them all. I dont know what else to try. Quote
ReMark Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Back in your drawing. If you highlight some text then right click and select Properties what does it say for Text Style? Quote
ReMark Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Is there another workstation around with AutoCAD running on it? Quote
mdemco Posted January 23, 2009 Author Posted January 23, 2009 There is one other station, I just went over and tried with the same result, has the messed up goth letters Quote
ReMark Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 Would you be willing to send me the file so that I might try plotting it when I get to work on Monday? Quote
mdemco Posted January 26, 2009 Author Posted January 26, 2009 I actually got this figured out, I went in and started playing with the plotter pen configuration and when I changed pen 7 to round it started printing the goth text without it being all smeared and weird. I still cant get it to switch off of this text style but at least it will print it out decently. I still dont like it but I at least made my deadline!! Thanks as always for the help. Quote
ReMark Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 While you got a decent plot (good) you didn't solve the problem (bad). If I were you I'd still want to figure what happened. Quote
mdemco Posted January 28, 2009 Author Posted January 28, 2009 I agree I am still working towards finding the cause of the issue, the program is just not co-operating!!! Quote
