Rudbeckia Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Hello, how do i set the elevations of contour lines in cad so i can import them into sketch up with elevations? thanks for any help Quote
rustysilo Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 If they are splines use FLATTEN to convert them to polylines. Then you can assign elevations to them. Quote
rustysilo Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Another option, if you wanted to work in AutoCAD instead of Sketchup, would be to FLATTEN the splines into poly's, assign elevations to them, then export those to a .dxf file (with only those contour lines in it). Then you can open the .dxf in SiteTopo (tell it to use the lines as breaklines) and it will create a TIN model from them. Then you could export the 3d faces of that model back to .dxf and open in AutoCAD. I think that would work. Quote
