CADsince07 Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Hi All, I am currently doing a course and the first task requires me to 'set limits to suit A3 paper sizes'. I dont work with limits in my current job and so i am a bit stuck as to how to set them and what suitable limits for A3 would be?? How do i set limits in a drawing and what would suitable limits be?? A3 = 420 x 210 Divide with your planned plotscale If you plan to plot in 1:100 set your limits to 42000 x 21000, for example Lower Left = 0,0 Upper Right = 42000,21000 If you do this often you should have a menu made to do for you or save some template files (dwt) to use later. Lee Mac Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 This may be a stupid interruption, but, when working with a template, I would just have a border with dimensions of A3, in layout space and scale a viewport to suit my drawing. Quote

Following Raggi's calculations and if you're going to plot them both in scale 1:2 the sequence would be LIMITS Specify lower left corner: 0.00,0.00 Specify upper right corner: 594,420 (for A4) or 820,594 (for A3) edit: Raggi was just a taad faster :wink: Quote

vicvel4691 Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 I'm new in AutoCAD, i think command "limits" in AutoCAD its about setting limits for the printable boundary in the surface of A3 size paper not actually for the size of A3 paper. I would suggest like this: i'm not perfect but i'll just try. LIMITS Specify lower left corner: 0.00,0.00 Specify upper right corner: 788,514 (for A3) Because printable surface including margins is 394 x 257 mm for 420 x 297 size of A3 paper. scale 1:2 Quote
