F9 key not working

When I hit my F9 key in AutoCAD instead of toggling the snap it launches the search box  shown in the attached pic.

One of the IT guys just came by. It was the function lock on the keyboard

 

Fn + ESC fixed it.

I got caught with this problem also on my laptop, panic set in.
