ChrisCMU Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 We had these when I learned AutoCAD (version 10), but I can't find them now. It was a sheet of paper that you taped onto your keyboard (around the F-keys) that was a reference for beginners basically. It told you what each key did. I have a co-worker just learning, does anybody know where these are for 2009 versions? Quote
ReMark Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Type "function keys" in Help and you'll get a lsit of all shortcut keys and temporary override keys in AutoCAD. Cut and paste it into Word then print it out. I know the template you speak of. I used to have one in a heavy mylar that was actually done in color. Can't recall where I got it from...it was a while ago. Quote
ReMark Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Click on the Procedure tab when you've made your search of Help for "function keys". There is an explanation on how to print out a list of all the shortcut keys and overrides. Quote
ChrisCMU Posted January 26, 2009 Author Posted January 26, 2009 thanks, that gave me a list for her, but not a guide she can tape to her keyboard. She'll just have to live with that. Quote
MaxwellEdison Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Have her create a keyboard layout in CAD with the information you just got. Has the bonus of familiarizing your coworker with taking measurements from a real world object and transfering that into a cad drawing. Or get a label maker...but that feels like cheating. Quote

ReMark Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 rkent is providing an overlay for the F'ing keys? Where do I sign up? Quote
Lee Mac Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Thanks for the info RKent and I like the keyboard overlay - very informative Quote
eldon Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Sorry to join the party at a late stage, but I was having hiccups with hard discs. I have used a template overlay for years, and it is essential if you want to assign your Osnaps to the F-keys, reminds you which is what. Here is a picture of my keyboard, overseen by my soft mouse Quote
