MAREBER Posted June 20, 2019 Posted June 20, 2019 (edited) Please help... for some reason, my scroll bar WHEEL of the mouse will not function as a pan all of a sudden. How can I fix this? MUCH appreciated! Edited June 20, 2019 by MAREBER Quote
Cad64 Posted June 20, 2019 Posted June 20, 2019 Scroll bar of the mouse? I assume you're talking about the scroll wheel? What mouse are you using? If it's a Logitech mouse, you may need to reinstall or update the mouse software. This happens to me from time to time. Quote
MAREBER Posted June 20, 2019 Author Posted June 20, 2019 Yes, the wheel. And yes, it is a Logitech. I have had this for so long that I don't remember it even coming with software? Quote
Cad64 Posted June 20, 2019 Posted June 20, 2019 Yes, it's the Logitech Set Point software which allows you to program the mouse buttons for specific tasks. https://support.logitech.com/en_us/software/setpoint Quote
MAREBER Posted June 20, 2019 Author Posted June 20, 2019 Unfortunately, that didn't help at all. I can't find an option to make my scroll wheel act as a pan anywhere??? Quote
RobDraw Posted June 20, 2019 Posted June 20, 2019 I use Logitech mice without the SetPoint software. It can cause some minor issues if not set-up properly. I would uninstall it and make sure MBbuttonPan is set to 1. Quote
Cad64 Posted June 20, 2019 Posted June 20, 2019 Yeah, I had trouble setting my mouse wheel to pan also. I ended up setting one of the thumb buttons on the side to pan. It was a little awkward at first, but now I'm used to it. When this mouse dies, I'll probably look for a different brand. I like the mouse, but the pan issue is a little irritating. Quote
MAREBER Posted June 20, 2019 Author Posted June 20, 2019 (edited) Alright, everything is now uninstalled. The MButtonPan was set to 1, but I reentered 1, but that didn't change anything. OMGosh, this is annoying! I've closed and reopened CAD, tried a new mouse... and nothing helps. What happened? Edited June 20, 2019 by MAREBER Quote
Cad64 Posted June 20, 2019 Posted June 20, 2019 Even with a different mouse it's still happening? That's kind of weird. When did this start happening? Was it doing this when you opened Autocad this morning or were you working and then all of a sudden pan stopped functioning? If it was me, I would reinstall set point and set one of the buttons for pan, but if you want your scroll wheel to pan, I'm not sure what to tell you. I don't know why it stopped working? Here are some suggestions from Autodesk: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Wheel-button-on-mouse-does-not-perform-zoom-functions.html Quote
MAREBER Posted June 20, 2019 Author Posted June 20, 2019 It started when I opened CAD this morning. It was working fine when I closed CAD yesterday late afternoon. That is why I closed and reopened CAD, thinking it was just a program glitch. I even tried opening up other drawings to see if it was just this one I am working on, and it is a program wide issue, not just a file issue. I'm sure that I must have done something... but don't know how to UNdo it. I'll take a look at the suggestions... thank you. Quote
MAREBER Posted June 20, 2019 Author Posted June 20, 2019 I rebooted and then sort of beat up on my mouse and it is working now- go figure! Thank you any way for the help! Quote
