iain9876
I have recently upgraded to civil 3d 2009. Is there anyway I can set the drawing units default to metres? I have tried everthing the usual way by setting; units insunits insunitsdefsource and target. On the prospector tab I have changed the units and zone, and ambient settings, all to metric. I saved this as a template. but for some reason it still doesn't default to metric. I always have to keep re-setting these. i have a third party (metric) survey program that produces dxf's but when it is opened up in acad it defaults as imperial. It seems to me there must be some deep rooted setting I need to change. Anyone any ideas? cheers in advance Iain
lpseifert
Have you tried using one of the OOTB metric templates as your base for your template?

rustysilo
Or just change your default template to the metric one in Options > Files tab.
