gshangin Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 I am trying to install 2006 on my new Vista. I saw on some forum advice to go to properties of setup file and change for windows XP, and check Administrators box, which I did. After installation when I start Autocad I get messeg "Application has failed to start because ac1st16.dll was not found Reinstalling might help etc". Although, it's in this directory Autocad/Bin/acadFreui/CommonFiles/AutodeskShared. Any ideas? Quote

Is there anything you did extra after install, all mine does is give me the incompatible message then shuts cad down. I'm tempted to install ereader for now so I can atleast showcase work, and work on downgrding to XP. Quote
IceSkyline25 Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Try to see if it helps:] Well I was having the same problem and it turned out to be that you just need to remove the last backslash on the PATH. WOW thanks for all the great info. Quote
