Al Sullivan Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Can someone tell me if there is a way to explode a text block without changing the text. An example would be a room name with the room number below it. When the block is exploded the room name and room number change to "line1" and "number". Is there a way to explode the block and keep the original text? Thanks in advance. Quote
MaxwellEdison Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 You're exploding an attribute, and when it loses its association it defaults to its prompt value. What you need is the BURST command from the Express tools, however "Lite" versions of AutoCAD do not come with Express tools. Quote
Lee Mac Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 I'm assuming you mean to explode an attributed block and keep the attribute text - use the BURST command (Express) Quote
Al Sullivan Posted January 27, 2009 Author Posted January 27, 2009 Wow you guys are fast. Thanks so much. Maybe I'll try a previous version of autocad that may have that burst command. Do you think rev14 has it, and can I save the drawing in rev14 and still burst the block? Quote
Lee Mac Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Your welcome - if you have any further questions just ask Quote
Al Sullivan Posted January 27, 2009 Author Posted January 27, 2009 I just tried to BURST in rev14 and no luck, but I also have autocad 2006 and tried it there and it works perfectly. You all saved me much time and I thank you all very much. Quote
