Brandon Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 I have the strangest thing happening...and couldnt find anything close to this by searching. In short, when I hatch something the hatch "attaches" itself to whatever lines or polylines are creating the boundary. In other words, once the hatch is there, it and everything it touches become a block. This has happened in more than one drawing now, and with more than one hatch pattern. Any guesses what is causing it? Quote
Brandon Posted January 27, 2009 Author Posted January 27, 2009 On the ones Im having trouble with... it appears that "Associative" is checked under the options list, and the draw order is set to "send behind boundary" Quote
darn-net Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 When you LIST the hatch does it show as a Block or Hatch object? There's a button "Create seperate hatches" that will combine the hatches as one. Also, there is a boundary retention in which you can select "Region" or "Polyline". The Region can make it seem like a block. (In order to see this you may need to click the expand arrow on the lower left of the dialog box.) rkent Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 PICKSTYLE is set to 2 or 3 and Associative Hatch was used. If you don't want the boundary selected when selecting the hatch set PICKSTYLE to 1 or 0. Quote
Brandon Posted January 28, 2009 Author Posted January 28, 2009 Pickstyle was set to 3! Thank you all very much. (now how on earth did it get to 3 when no one in my office has ever even heard of that command?) Quote
darn-net Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 It is possible a lisp program switched the variable for the function of the program. A proper lisp program will save the current variable before changing it and switch it back when it completes. Not all programs plan for unexpected error in the middle and change it back.
