Is there a way of getting shape files out of a dwg, or can I find where they are saved to, recent upgrades to my computer seems to have lost some shape files but I can see them in drawings on other computers on the network.

I hope I haven't confused you all:shock: .

Thanks

I think you can track the file down like this:

On a computer/in a drawing where shape appears, type the command "shape" then "?" and you should see the file name (with a .shx file extension.)

On command line type (findfile "somename.shx") including the parentheses, & if found it will show the full path of the file.

Try with ETRANSMIT

I tried both of your suggestions,

Etransmit does not have the shx file attached, but I will see if there is a toggle to copy them in it.

Findfile did not work on my computers.

its just a puzzle
