f700es Posted October 4, 2019 Posted October 4, 2019 Well my long time co-worker retired last moth. So I took some time to start looking through his desk before new person starts in Nov. I found a few old AutoDesk dvd boxes Quote
Cad64 Posted October 4, 2019 Posted October 4, 2019 Yeah, back in the good old days when you could actually buy software instead of subscribing to a service and renting it. Quote
f700es Posted October 4, 2019 Author Posted October 4, 2019 Also found a copy of 3D Studio Max 2.5 Quote

steven-g Posted October 4, 2019 Posted October 4, 2019 You can make money with those, people are always looking for old versions on ebay, won't do them any good seeing as anything older than 2010 can no longer be activated, but that doesn't stop people looking. Quote
f700es Posted October 4, 2019 Author Posted October 4, 2019 How Steven, just sell them sans codes as back up disks? Quote
steven-g Posted October 4, 2019 Posted October 4, 2019 Doesn't matter, to reinstall you need an activation and that has to go through Autodesk, you can't even reinstall on your old computer, actually that is for 2010 as well. So having the old software on disk is just a keep sake, it's dead, if you need it, you can't use it. As of August 29th anything older than or including 2010 is useless, if you have it running on a machine then treat that machine with care. Even then some people are losing their use of the program.
