christreeroot Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 Does anybody create landscape plans, if so what software/cad plugins do you use. I am currently in the market for a cad plugin or cad based software program, there seems to be a huge choice and some seem to be quite pricey. Any advice would be gratefully recived.. Thanks CJ Quote
rustysilo Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 I think lots of the la's we work with use AutoCAD LT. There are other more landscape specific softwares though. At least I seem to remember seeing some. A simple Google search should produce some if they are available. Quote
christreeroot Posted February 1, 2009 Author Posted February 1, 2009 Thanks i am currently trying the KeyScape software, seems ok. I think i may just buy a load of the landscape symbols off I Symbol and use with autodesk impression. CJ Quote
rustysilo Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Lots of them come with Civil 3d if you have that loaded. Quote
chulse Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Have you seen Land FX (plug-in for autocad)? I have not tried it yet, but the demos I have seen seem pretty good. Quote
christreeroot Posted February 2, 2009 Author Posted February 2, 2009 Yep i have tried land f/x and it is looking good so far. I have bought a load of images off i symbol and they are great, i am just working on some bits and bobs for my tree surveys now. Quote
Mike Shilton Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 I will declare an interest beforehand as I work for Key Systems (who develop KeySCAPE) but suggest you take a look at our KeySCAPE LT software as it starts at around the same price as AutoCAD LT, includes its own AutoCAD engine but has more presentation graphics that allow you to create effective planting and hardworks drawings. We also have a new tree survey module (KeyTREE) that complies with BS5837:2005. You can download a free trial copy from the website at www.keyscape.com Give it a try. Would be interested to see how you get on! Quote
