cassio Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 so we installed autocad lt 2002 (I know it's old, but it's what we have) on a windows xp pro sp2 system just fine (used all the defaults) but autocad abends when trying to do anything useful. No specific error message, just says it needs to shut down. Same behavior when working on drawings created on that PC and on imported drawings. This is only on one specific PC, others are happy with it. Any ideas or handy hints? Any incompatibilities you know about? I expect there is some other software that is screwing things up. Quote
Tankman Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 Welcome cassio to the CadTutor forums. Does the work station or PC have enough memory? Does the 'bad' PC have the same configuration, memory or graphics as the workin' work stations? Quote
cassio Posted February 1, 2009 Author Posted February 1, 2009 There is enough memory. 1 Gig. But I will check that. As far as the configuration, it does have a lot of odds and ends on it installed over the past 4 years or so. It is up to date on all MS updates, security, etc. I would agree that the problem may well be in the configuration, but figuring out just what is a real problem. I can't do a reinstall ,,, well, I sure don't want to do a system reinstall because it will take forever to track down the necessary apps. I really do appreciate your help. Quote
ReMark Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 What OS are you running? Run CHKDSK on the hard drive. Maybe you have a bad sector. Quote
