dunc1n Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 Hey folks, dunno if anyone will be able to answer this as I take it most of you guys use desktops at work. BUT..... Can anyone give me an idea of what spec to go for when buying laptop to use Inventor AND 3DS on??? It needs to be able to run both these programmes flawlessly but at the same time I dont want to be spending ridiculous amounts of money. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Quote
VikaMann Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 I'm currently running Inventor 2009 on a laptop with an: 1,6Ghz dual core prosossor 1,2 GB ram 124 Ram graphic card 120GB total space(currently about 20GB free) Don't seem to have any problem running inventor so far Quote
eribiste Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 I'm running Inventor 2008 on a Dell Inspiron 1300 with the standard 1.6Ghz Celeron M and whatever graphics card Dell fit as standard. I've uprated the RAM modules to 2Gb, but that's the only change. Everything runs OK, but I do have to be patient (very patient, as in time for a cuppa patient) when using the contents center for fasteners and the like. I've never tried to do anything more than 100 or so components in any one assembly, mostly using it for component design. I would say that you would be able to buy a suitable laptop for about £700 or so at a guess. Quote
