mouse pointer problems

using autocad 2002 - when attempting to do simple commands such as erase or copy the mouse will only allow me to make one pick as i turn to the next object the first one does not get included - i have been told that it may be because it is reverting to the windows default - anyhow whatever it is would be grateful if someone can tell me how to cure it -thanks

PICKADD=1 will add objects to the current selection set.

Or you can use SHIFT > Select for multiple objects...
