SMP Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 Hello all. For the last few months i had noticed that that for whatever reason when typing in the 'CO' (copy command) into the command line, right after i type the 'c' autocad seems to hang for a few seconds, forgets that i typed the 'o' and instead engages the circle command and begins to draw a circle. i basically have to type the copy command V...E....R....Y.... slowly. And if i am in a zone and being uber productive that is a large PITA. Now it seems this little glitch is affecting other commands like 'M' for move? Real basic things that i feel shouldn't be causing a delay or lag in core autocad functionality. Is there a sysvar somewhere i should change somewhere our some kind of setting in options i should be looking into? i am using Civil3D 2019 on a fairly new machine. Quote
BIGAL Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 I have a similar problem CIV3D 2020, when I start it loads and if you type something on command line it has a think about it for a couple of seconds, after that works as normal. Quote
tombu Posted April 24, 2020 Posted April 24, 2020 Sounds like it's a Civil 3D issue. Drives me nuts when after selecting linework to extend to and entering EX it Erases them. I've started counting one thousand two thousand before hitting the spacebar. At least it's good to know it's not just me. Quote
tombu Posted April 24, 2020 Posted April 24, 2020 (edited) Possible Solutions I'm going to try. Command line delay in AutoCAD: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Command-line-delay-in-AutoCAD.html Keyboard input delay: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-forum/keyboard-input-delay/m-p/7012150#M874502 Entering commands or shortcuts and then clicking shows a delay in AutoCAD: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Keyboard-shortcut-entry-slow.html? Haven't noticed it since I've been working from home, I've got a lot better PC here than I have at work. Edited April 24, 2020 by tombu Quote

SMP Posted April 27, 2020 Author Posted April 27, 2020 (edited) I think the winning solution on my end was simply setting DYNMODE to 0 and docking my command window. I am three hours into my day and i haven't had the issue i had been struggling with. Fingers Crossed this keeps up. I have no idea how my command line got undocked but here we are.
