Hello

We get the 2D floorplans from the clients which had blocks of furnitures (chair, tables, etc). I am sure that these furnitures are from the catalog of some furniture manufacturer (Eg: Haworth, Zenith, etc)
Just wanted to ask if it is possible to know the furnitures manufacturer and types from the AutoCAD in anyway ?

Thanks

It would depend on the block naming convention used by the manufacturer.  But offhand I wouldn't think so.

Could be in the description for the block as well (open in block editor>properties). Whether it contains what you want or not, you could search manufacturer sites with the block name, etc. to try and find the information.

If you would post a .dwg with a block someone could check to see what is provided, maybe.

Manufacturer's tend to have a lot of detail in their blocks. Maybe there is a logo somewhere on the furniture.

I think SLW has a good idea, try to dig down into and check those Properties.

Thanks everyone for your valuable feedback and suggestions.
I realized that the only way we can get some info regarding the furniture details is either from the block name (naming convention) or block description.

Are you at liberty to post a .dwg including one or more of the blocks?

Or you could either copy or use NestedCopy and paste it into a new empty .dwg and post that?

As per SLW, I'd enjoy taking a look.

Another alternative option would be to search for the exact DWG file name of the blocks via google.  there's a chance it would direct you to the correct manufacturer site where the blocks came from - which would point you in the right direction.

Luckily, most motors, gear boxes, pumps, etc. usually have the manufacturer, model and specifications tags in their models.

I would wager if it is an unaltered model, it has a label or logo on it.
