jack manes Posted September 30, 2020 Posted September 30, 2020 I can't dynamically/on the move resize polyline objects for some reasons. It applies to all polyline 2D objects. All I can do is move individual grips by specifying a new location with a click. Lines work fine, so do 3D objects. I can't find which variable modifies this behavior. Quote
jack manes Posted October 1, 2020 Author Posted October 1, 2020 It is a variable I'm sure about it. I can't resize 2D objects while dragging its grips. Let's say I want to change diameter of a circle, one of the options is to to drag a grip outwards or inwards ( diameter of the circle changes while stretching when dynamic input is on) I don't know how better explain it. It works fine with lines, and 3D, it doesn't with 2D polylines. Quote
SLW210 Posted October 2, 2020 Posted October 2, 2020 Can you post screen shots or a video of what's happening? Similar problem in 2018 Civil 3D and Map 3D was addressed with a hotfix (IIRC it depended on what Windows version you had if you noticed the problem). I still think this is a bug. In some older AutoCAD versions, turning off certain Osnaps seems to have fixed this. The fact it is only Polylines, I don't know of any particular SysVar for just stretching Polylines, but could be, check all the SysVars with DYN (like DYNMODE). I have fixed some bugs by resetting my profile in AutoCAD. You might try resetting to default and/or running a repair. Quote
Dadgad Posted October 3, 2020 Posted October 3, 2020 (edited) Is the MIDDLE grip displaying on the Polylines? And is the GRIP OPTIONS menu displaying? Edited October 3, 2020 by Dadgad Visuals added. Quote

It works fine with lines, and 3D, it doesn't with 2D polylines. A circle's location is controlled by it's center grip, dragging a grip of one of it's quadrants naturally scales it's diameter since location and diameter are all that defines it. A polyline is a lot more complex object with a limitless number of vertices that cannot be scaled (resized) the same way but just like a circle selecting a grip then press Enter or Spacebar three times to scale grip mode, or right-click the selected grip to view a shortcut menu with scale and all available grip modes and other options. The reference option is often used when scaling.
