Hi all I have recently started using inventor I have experience with AutoCAD and I have just started a part time college course to learn how to use inventor.

I have just created a part in inventor but now I am strugling how to g my drawing to show up in 2D with measurements so I can send it to my suppliers for them to manufacture, I just need a PDF showing different views of the part with the dimensions on.

I have moved your question to the Inventor section so it can get the attention it needs. To insure you get the fastest results possible, always make sure to post in the correct area of the forum.

Your professor should be able to show you how to do this. Have you gone through the Help>Learning Tools>Tutorials?

There is a complete free curriculum for download here http://engineersrule.org

You will need to create an idw file. Once you get the hang of it, it is much easier than AutoCAD.

If you keep looking there is a link for those who don't have school issued email. Click and follow the instructions - you will need a professors email as reference.

The Help>...Tutorials cover this question.

File New

select appropriate inch or metric idw or dwg template.

Create your views using the tools on the drawing views panel bar.

Go to the drawing annotation panel bar and retrieve your model dimensions or manually put them in yourself.

If you can't figure it out zip and attach what you have so far so that someone can get you started in the right direction.
