Bailey Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 Hi Guys, I've got a prob with block insertion. When inserting a block it would come in way to small, so looking in tools\ options\ user preferences panel i noticed the insertion scale was set to inches insted of milimeters. I change this but it still come's in wrong. I then noticed in the bottom right of the insert panel the Block units is saying 0.034 insted of 1.0 Dose anyone know y this is happening and how to change that Block units section???? Quote
dbroada Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 you have to set a couple of variable but I can't remember what they are just now. INSUNITS is one, the others are in the INS* area so use Express tools variable editor for them. Quote

ZenCad1960 Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 This is one area where I believe custom palettes are golden. If you have a ton of blocks, you can create a palette to house them all using various tabs to discriminate them out. You can then use the properties for each on to use the "alternate units" and set that to dim scale. If you have a 40 scale drawing, the block will come into the drawing at 40 scale, no need to scale or anything, if you have a 30 it comes in at that scale. We have set our complete standards up on palettes, including layers, linetypes, text, dimensions and our entire block library up using palettes. The users are all happy because they are so much faster than the old way. Faster than even templates. Just my 2 cents Quote
Dom_Tiger Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Dear ZenCad1960 I am trying to do exactly what you have done. How would you set the unit scales in the block definition files for the tool palette ? Do you have separate blocks for imperial drawing and metric drawings ? Thank you. Quote
