YoungAutoCADPadawan2022 Posted February 25, 2022 Posted February 25, 2022 Hi, I'm a student in Interior Design. We have to use AutoCAD for Windows. However, I'm using a MacBook Air and I can't buy a new computer at this moment. Is there a way for a teacher (other than converting) to open a .dwg file made on Mac on their Windows computer while having still having access to the Autolisp of this file ? Thank you, Im so depressed by this. Quote
steven-g Posted February 25, 2022 Posted February 25, 2022 Any computer that runs Autocad should be able to open a .dwg file no matter where it is created. The only problem is that older versions of Autocad cannot open files created in a newer version. Mac and Windows have a slight variation in the commands available but the final .dwg is universal. SLW210 Posted February 25, 2022 Posted February 25, 2022 AutoCAD for MAC does have some AutoLISP restrictions, not sure all of them. Differences AutoCAD for Windows-AutoCAD for MAC. You might look into alternatives for running AutoCAD for Windows on a MacBook Air, but I'm not sure if a MacBook Air will be optimal for running either. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS Quote
