Lithium Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 I tried to learn something about the various actions available in the Layout Panel and messed something up so bad I can't get back to normal. I noticed an 'input window' which said "Unsaved Layer States" and created some entries in the Layout Manager. I gave them the names of my Layouts and thought that selecting one would set the layers appropriately, etc. It didn't work that way. It went downhill fast and soon one viewport would not display anything at all, even though I unfroze everything, everywhere. I shut down without saving and got the Layout back. I deleted the Named Layouts in the Layout Manager. That is the background. My immediate problem now is that Properties now has several items with black text on a cyan background (Color, Layer, Linetype, and Lineweight). Also, I now have, for example, By Layer (VP) instead of just By Layer. In the Layout Panel the Layer name is also black on a cyan background. What can I do to get back to normal? Quote
lpseifert Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Those are Viewport Layer Overrides, since 2008 you can assign different colors, linetypes etc. per viewport. If you want to get rid of them, rt-clk on a layer in Layer manager and one of the selections is 'Remove Viewport Overrides for...' Hey I was born in Utah Quote
Lithium Posted February 17, 2009 Author Posted February 17, 2009 Thanks for the response. Yes, that works (actually, Layer Properties). Now I'm back trying to figure out Layer States. If I select, for example, "Trailer Layout" (which has been saved) it immediately ignores that and puts "Unsaved Layer State" in the box. Yes, Utah is a great state to be from. Quote
