Steevy_ray Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 Hi all, Can we change the 0,0 point of World UCS to another place in a drawing ? I want to ajust some drawings with XREF and i want all the insertion points at the same 0,0 without moving all my drawing and by the way **** my viewport lol Quote
uddfl Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 No, you can't move the WCS. The universe would implode The only thing I can come up with right now (need more coffee) is changing the INSBASE of the drawings but even that might not work for you... especially if you are working with coordinates. In my experience (and I don't know how many drawings you are dealing with) it would be better to do it right and move the drawing objects to where they need to be in relation to the WCS, and adjust your viewports. But someone else might have a better solution. Quote
CarlB Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 You could set up a UCS with a new origin (0,0) where you want it, then detatch & reattach the xref's at the (new) 0,0. Quote
Steevy_ray Posted February 18, 2009 Author Posted February 18, 2009 yeah but the insertion point of Xrefs is always set to UCS world 0,0 point... Quote
CarlB Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 I guess I don't fully undersdtand your issue or your last answer. Insert point of xref's is whatever you give it, and it will use the current UCS coordinates. Quote
wannabe Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 What about utilising the CHSPACE command to somehow move things and keep viewports looking good? Quote
