Vikes_Fl Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Hello guys and gals! We've recently received Civil 3D 2008 to process our survey data. One of the biggest questions is this. How do we import our Mr. SID files to georeference to our RTK surveys? We currently don't have the full package of Raster Design. And I've heard that AutoCAD doesn't use the reference file associated with the Mr. SID is this true? Thanks for your help! Quote
lpseifert Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Use Map > Image > Insert, this will read .tfw (world) files. Not sure about MrSid though. Quote
rkmcswain Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Use the ._MAPIINSERT command. It will read the world files. Quote
lpseifert Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 I tried but couldn't get mapiinsert to work with MrSID files, but you can use Map to connect to the .sid files. Look under Help for MrSID, they explain how to. If you're unfamiliar with Map, to bring up the Display Manager, type in MAPWSPACE. Quote
rustysilo Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 I believe you also have to have the Raster Design object enablers in order to do MrSID or Jpeg2000 formats. Quote
rkmcswain Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 I believe you also have to have the Raster Design object enablers in order to do MrSID or Jpeg2000 formats. I'm pretty sure that is right. I had forgotten about that. Quote
hellnback Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 Download "infranview" and save your mrSID's to something that is supported by C3D eg. tif, jpg. World files are just txt files so depending on what your image is rename the ext of the world file. eg: tif = tfw jpg = jpw sid = sdw Quote
