DarkLord2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 I am using AutoCAD 2007 on a Windows 2007 system, and for some odd reason when ever I save a file with the extension .dwg the icon is of a generic icon with the words in blue called "DOC" (not as in MS Word .doc). When I double click on any file with the with the .dwg extension AutoCAD does open, but if I change the file extension to .Dwg or .DWG then the icon changes to the AutoCAD icon. I know I could just batch rename the file extensions, but that's not solving the problem. Quote
JohnM Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 google "change file icon in vista" and you might find a solution my solution is to use xp Quote
Cad64 Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Right click on any Autocad file with the "DOC" icon and choose Properties. On the "General" tab, where it says "Opens with", click the "Change" button and select "Autocad Application". Quote
