hi-liter Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 In 02 I Could Hold Shift And W/ Mouse Wheel Pan Inside A Veiwport And Have A Nice Controlled Ortho Pan. Now With 09 Shift Goes 3d And Turns The Z Axis Orbit On. While Control/mouse Wheel Does Provide An Ortho Move Of The Drawing In The Viewport, At Times Can Get Out Of Control Or 'slide' Faster Than I Would Like It To (just As It Would In 02 So Used Shift/mouse Wheel --much Smoother And Better Controlled). I Am Wondering What Happened To This Or Is There A Way To Change Shift/mouse Wheel Back? Quote
ReMark Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 What steps have you taken to fix the problem so we don't end up suggesting something you've already tried? I get a headache just reading your text. Is it necessary to capitalize the first letter of each word or do you suffer from some strange disease? Quote
alanjt Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 it must be some setting, it works fine in c3d 09. i am curious about the capitalization of the first letter of each word; typing must be a pain. Quote
ReMark Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Works fine in my plain vanilla version of AC 2009 as well. Must be OIE (Operator Induced Error). Quote
hi-liter Posted February 25, 2009 Author Posted February 25, 2009 Wow Thanks For The Cruelty, I Reall Appreicate It....but Hey At Least You Replied; Beggers Can't Be Choosers. I Believe There Is Some Problem; I Actually Have Eveything Capitalized When I Type It Up But The Forum Translates It To What You Have Seen........?????? Anyway Have Not Tried Anything To Fix As Of Yet Dont Know Where To Start. Again Thanks For The Replies And Really Helping Me Out Quote
ReMark Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Have you played with MBUTTONPAN? What mouse are you using? When did the problem first occur? Have you tried going through Windows Control Panel, System, Device Manager? Quote
RichterGMC Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Forums like these automatically format words Like This if the whole paragraph is typed in capitals, (notice if he has "..." or "--" before a word with no space it will not capitalize the first letter of that word) hi-liter, these guys are willing to help, you could do them the courtesy of hitting the "Caps Lock" button on your keyboard, I know it may be a lot to ask, but very helpful to the guys you are seeking help from Quote
hi-liter Posted February 25, 2009 Author Posted February 25, 2009 in order: 1) tried mbuttoncommand - not what i was thinking - set at 1 and is fine 2) have a dell mouse not wireless 3) when i first tried the operation 4) the mouse works fine and is set the way i would like it i dont think it is the mouse for the most part. i can use this method with 02 but not 09: i sometimes need to copy a viewport and keep the plan lined up eliminating some area between divided with cut lines; so when i copy a viewport and double-click into the next one my intentions are to move the display inside the next one straight on and not have to use reference lines to realign so to speak (for an example); Quote
hi-liter Posted February 25, 2009 Author Posted February 25, 2009 by the way my last response to Remark forgot to qoute with reply Quote

hi-liter Posted February 25, 2009 Author Posted February 25, 2009 i agree but would it not be just as easy if all was capitalized? which were my intentions. i am bit lazy. was not expecting such a mess to be produced for thread my deepest apologies Quote
hi-liter Posted February 25, 2009 Author Posted February 25, 2009 first hit the mouse wheel, then press and hold shift, then pan alright!!! cant let go though gots to start over then, but i am satisfied now Quote
Guest Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 I had this problem when I switched to 08 from 05, and I’m sure it’s the same thing. Do your pan like normal, but press the SHIFT button AFTER you start panning. This should get the effect you are looking for. Quote
ReMark Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Driver problem perhaps? Having problems in any other program other than AutoCAD? Is this a USB mouse or a PS/2 mouse? Oops...me thinks I be too late. Solved right? Quote
