ACADADA Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Can AutoCAD 3D models be read, edited or modified by Solidworks or Pro/Engineer wildfire? Quote
fuccaro Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 To open the AutoCAD model in SolidWorks, export it in ACIS format. That can be read by SW. Maybe someone else can advice you about ProE. Quote
shift1313 Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 SW has a dwg editor. I frequently bring dwg models into SW. Because Acad models dont have any feature info with them, they come in as dumb solids. The dwg importer lets you select layers you want to bring in. and if you want it to be a 2d or 3d model. Quote
shift1313 Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 i dont know specifically about proe but i can try when i get home. I just downloaded the student version over the weekend. What version of either are you running? I have SW09 and proE 4.0 i think Quote
