Madison Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Currently running Civil 3d 2009. I need to know if its possible to import survey points ( currently in LAt Long) into a drawing that is set up in State Plane Coordinates.. I received some new points and when they were exported out of the GPS it was done in Lat Long vs. State Plane.. I would like to import these Lat Long coordinates into the drawing and have them land in the correct zone.. Anyone know if this is possible? and How do I go about doing it?? Thanks. Quote
lpseifert Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 Yes it is possible, look in help for "Point File Format Coordinate Zone Transformation Property", it is explained there better than I can. Essentially you need to set up a point file format (e.g. P,N,E,Z) for the coordinate system of the points you are importing. Quote
Madison Posted February 26, 2009 Author Posted February 26, 2009 Thanks! I will give that a try.. Quote
Madison Posted March 2, 2009 Author Posted March 2, 2009 I was able to import points that were in Lat Long into a drawing set up in State plane by using the File ----> Export object to SDF and then using the Map -----> Import. Thanks. If you want the step by step just PM me.. Quote
