Currently running Civil 3d 2009.

I need to know if its possible to import survey points ( currently in LAt Long) into a drawing that is set up in State Plane Coordinates.. I received some new points and when they were exported out of the GPS it was done in Lat Long vs. State Plane..

I would like to import these Lat Long coordinates into the drawing and have them land in the correct zone..

Anyone know if this is possible? and How do I go about doing it??

Thanks.

Yes it is possible, look in help for "Point File Format Coordinate Zone Transformation Property", it is explained there better than I can. Essentially you need to set up a point file format (e.g. P,N,E,Z) for the coordinate system of the points you are importing.

I was able to import points that were in Lat Long into a drawing set up in State plane by using the File ----> Export object to SDF and then using the Map -----> Import.

Thanks. If you want the step by step just PM me..
