SuperCAD Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 Got a little bit of a problem here. When I select our HP plotter and hit the OK button, a save box pops up asking me to save it as a PDF instead of sending the plot to the plotter. I can plot using other programs such as Word, Excel and even the standard Windoze test print, but I can't print anything with AutoCAD. I can take a detour and make a DWF file first and THEN print it, but I don't want to have to do that every time I need an 8-1/2"x11" to ask someone a question with. Any help is appreciated. Quote
stevsmith Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 In the plot menu, is the plot to file tab checked? If so uncheck it. If you have a tempate file, you may need to update the page setup settings and remove the plot to file check. Quote
SuperCAD Posted February 26, 2009 Author Posted February 26, 2009 Negative. Plot to file in not checked. Quote
wannabe Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 You need to look deep in the plotter properties and see which driver it is being set to use, is my guess, with a recent experience in mind. Instead of changing a plotter name in the page setup, someone changed a setting so a named plotter was pointing to another one. I'll see what I can do when I'm at work tomorrow. Quote
rkmcswain Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 Sounds like the PC3 file for this plotter got mapped to the PDF driver. If you can't fix it, delete this PC3 file and recreate it. Quote
