jsbrunt Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 We need to match a tag from another firm and are having a little trouble figuring out how to have leader rotate around center of circle, how to trim leader so it does not go into the circle/attribute block (but is still connected to center of circle), and have the charicteristics of a generally good tool and symbol. Any suggestions on How to do this? ACAD help talks about setting variables but does not tell where or what to set them to. Some of the sample tools (qleader, etc.) are close but I don't know how to modify them to get a match. Thanks... Quote
sparklerach Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Hi There, There are a number of different types of leaders on the leader Tool Palette. If you go Tools, theb Pallettes adn then Tool Palette, then select the leaders tab, you can select leaders with circular tags. Just adjust the arrowhead size etc in properties to get the siz you want. Hope this helps! Quote
sparklerach Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Or you can go to the Multileader Style dilogue box (MLEADERSTYLE) and go modify or new. Go to the Contants tab adn select block in the Mutileader Type dropdown list, then pick Circle in the Source Block dpopdown list. Again you may want to resize it's elements to suit your drawing. kool130 Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 hi jsbrunt, If you prefer to use dynamic block. chk attached block adit it as you please... .... peace out TAG.dwg Quote
jsbrunt Posted March 3, 2009 Author Posted March 3, 2009 Thanks for the suggestions and ideas. We sort of reverse engineered a dynamic block from the pallette and got something working. BUT it is a little squirrlely (runs around when you don't expect it where you don't expect it) The attribute for the reference number likes to go out of the circle when we are trying to relocate the whole thing. We have not been able to get one where we can drag the leader from both ends. BUT it is working. Thanks. JSB Quote
MaxwellEdison Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 jsbrunt, try MLEADER(s) as mentioned above. I have yet to run into an issue using them and the added functionality they provide is excellent. Take the time to properly set up your MLEADERSTYLE and you'll never look back. P.S. All it took for me was the Add Leader command from the context menu when selecting one...I was sold. Quote
Lee Mac Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 Well, with a circle though, it tends to snap to one of the quadrants instead of the perpendicular - thats the only issue I think. http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?t=29743&page=2 Quote
