embed 3d drawing in 2d model space

Hello, I need to put a 3D model into the 2d model page? I have the three orthograpic views, but there are holes one one side and not the other on a rolled piece. The guys in the shop are drilling holes in both sides. I have printed a 3D image with the 2d prints, but they want it all on one page. Any ideas?

In paper space create more than one viewport and use the VIEW toolbar to change the view of each viewport so that all the angles are covered. You can type "vports" and select how ever many you need and select the area you need to fit it into. Press enter. BAM!! multi viewports. Now click in each one and choose the view you want.

OK, I have 2 viewports, one with the 2D and one 3D, when I plot them, I only get one viewport. Any ideas how to get both to print on the same piece of paper?

What are your plot settings?

And just to make sure, are you sure that the second viewport is and actual viewport, not just a rectangle?

Readjust your viewports to fit in your Page Set Up Manager. Your viewport will only display if they fit inside of the predetermined size of the page you want to print out.

 

Say you have a Page Setup set to 17x22 then you make a few viewports that are bigger than that, your print out will only show a window the size you determine in Page Setup.

 

So if scale is not a factor then in the Page Setup choose Extents for the Plot area and Center to Plot and Fit to Page. this should work. If it still comes out funky, then choose Window instead of Extents and select a window from corner to corner of what you want to see in the print.
