search the web for "free website templates"

there are millions of web ideas out there... much more than you'll ever find here  you need to search, that's all i can offer you.

and why sell for another company? couldn't you do much better selling them as your own designs for yourself?

I'm with CADken. Search the inet and review other websites. You can glean many ideas and bring them together into your own design.

It helps to also have some background in graphics and photography.

dude, don't chase this 10 year old idea. it has ran it's course and you just won't get anywhere financially going forward with this. If you're asking about ideas here as a first post, then you've got a LONG way to go to make out on top when you evaluate your labor vs. making money by selling these. They just don't sell anymore, and if they do it's because someone REALLY knows what they're doing and have paid their dues many times over learning how to create good ideas and spending countless hours designing.

My advice: stay far away from this idea. Just my $0.02 tho, take it as you wish. Hope this helps if at all. 8)

Most websites require a unique solution and although templates might give a quick fix, they're never the ideal solution. Good web design means designing sites that fulfill your clients brief and satisfy the highest standards of usability, accessibility and coding standards. Real web designers do not use templates - consider the implications for your business.
