pbrat2000 Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 I am using AutoCAD LT 2009. This is my first post ever on any type of forum. I can usually find the answer out there but this time I cannot. I would be grateful if anyone could help. I am trying to evenly space 4 equal sized rectangles (representing a raised panel of a cabinet) separated by a 3'' space (representing the separating board of the different panels) within a pr-determined space. I have been doing the math and it is really slowing me down. Quote
RichterGMC Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 all I would to is draw a line perpendicular between the 2 lines so you have your 2 lines "| |" now looks like an "H". From there, MOVE all the rectangluar boxes, with your base point being the midpoint of one of the horizontal lines, and OSNAP that to the midpoint of the line you just drew between the 2 lines. Make sense? Quote
pbrat2000 Posted March 4, 2009 Author Posted March 4, 2009 I am trying to figure out what the size of the 4 rectangles will be without doing the math. If I just use the Divide tool on a perpendicular line that runs in-between my other 2 lines the 2 inside rectangles will be smaller once I add the thickness of the 3'' space. Thanks for the reply Quote
RichterGMC Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 The I would draw a line at the midpoint of the vertical lines, draw a horizontal line at that point. then do the same thing for the midpoint between the new horizontal line and the top & bottom, that gives you 4 equal spaces vertically. offset each of those lines 1.5 up and down so your spaces are 3, then you have your sizes. trim it up and your good to go. EDIT - if you do it this way, draw a horizontal line at the top and bottom endpoints of the vertical lines and offset them 3 towards the inside of the door (bottom, offset up, for example). then do the aformentioened steps or else you will have uneven spaces. hope this makes sense for ya Quote
MaxwellEdison Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 Does LT have the M2P (Midpoint Between 2 Points) OSnap? This doesn't show up on the OSnap list but can be invoked during a selection. Just enter M2P When AutoCAD prompts you to specify either the base point or the point of displacement. Quote
