Scott44 Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 Were just getting into 3D modeling. I'm trying to set things up in my workspace. It's going kind of slow. One thing that I can't find is the setting that turns on this red reference line? When drawing conduits? My co-workers is on and I have no idea where the setting is without digging out the cad manual..Does anyone know what i'm talking about? Something about my options too when I middle click...Getting a list of snaps along with MEP command stuff...Any help in these areas would really help me out.. Quote

For the middle button, type mbuttonpan in the command line, toggle this between 1 or 0. This will switch your middle button functionality. I'm not sure what you mean about the red reference line, sorry I can't help with that part. Quote

That's the Collision Detection, and leave this off. It'll bring even the best workstations buckling to its knees from a performance hit.... only use it when you want to find something and turn it back off. For reference, its under the Options Dialog Box, at the MEP Layout Rules tab. Turn it on/off at your convenience. Quote

tzframpton Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Oh sorry, on the Menu... go to Window -> Interference Detection Palette. or type interferencedetection at the command line. Quote
LifeoRiley0 Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 You are correct that interference detection will hang a computer terribly. We still use the older collision detection for finding collisions between structural members and our other mechanical systems. I have not been able to find the feature in any drop down or tool bar however. we type collisiondetection to run it. Quote
