stech Posted April 9, 2024 Posted April 9, 2024 Hello. Thank you very much for accepting me on the forum. How can I access the texture or material editor? I need to change the scale of a material: https://help.autodesk.com/view/ACD/2024/ENU/?guid=GUID-ED8BECBA-55D2-4B27-9046-616C23C6B0D0 But, I don't know how to access that window. Where is it? Another question, can Autocad (only Autocad) be used alone to make "images" or views of a realistic 3D solid? As realistic as possible, you cannot even tell if it is a studio photo or a real photo. I'm talking about small objects, 30cm or 50cm. Can a cylinder be wrapped with a custom texture? Example, a can of Coca-Cola and paste the complete Coca-Cola label on the cylinder of the container. ? Thank you very much. Quote
CyberAngel Posted April 9, 2024 Posted April 9, 2024 This is one of those things about AutoCAD Help that drives me crazy. I want to open my materials dialog window. Where are the instructions on how to do this basic task?? Then I try the most basic thing I can think of. Type MATERIALS at the command prompt. It works! The cylinder is one of the primitive 3D solids you can create in AutoCAD. Type (you guessed it) CYLINDER. I would recommend searching for how to map an image to a curved surface. Pick the method that suits the tools you have and seems most natural to you. Quote
stech Posted April 9, 2024 Author Posted April 9, 2024 (edited) Thanks for your answer. But, I had already caught it a few hours ago, but not the window that appears in the documentation. How naturally can I locate that window? Do you know where the window is? Why do not you tell me? Materials show material list, not the window that appears in the documentation: https://help.autodesk.com/view/ACD/2024/ENU/?guid=GUID-ED8BECBA-55D2-4B27-9046-616C23C6B0D0 I don't know how to access or get to what appears in the documentation. Cad64 Posted April 9, 2024 Posted April 9, 2024 If you double click on one of the materials, like the "Marble - Gray", it will open the window you're looking for. You can also Right Click on one of the materials and choose "Edit" from the popup menu. Quote
stech Posted April 9, 2024 Author Posted April 9, 2024 The double click or right click thing is the first thing I tried. Double click: Tells me to select an object to place the material. Right click: I get only one valid option "add material to current document". It is the 30-day free trial, for MAC, version 2024. Will there be a window or section that I should open where I can explore? Maybe it's in a hidden window or panel, I don't know. Quote
Cad64 Posted April 9, 2024 Posted April 9, 2024 Oh, I didn't realize you were running Autocad on a Mac. I don't use a Mac so I won't be able to help you with this. Hopefully someone else will have some suggestions. Quote
Cad64 Posted April 9, 2024 Posted April 9, 2024 Ok, here's something you can try. I'm not sure if it will work on a Mac, but try using the MATEDITOROPEN command. Quote
