Hi guys, you probably didn't noted but I was away for a while since I was on vacation.

I'm back now, and recently I got a problem.

I need to attach a picture to a drawing, this picture must be attached to the drawing archive and must not need a path. The reason for this is that I'll send this drawing to be ploted without the image file, and, with that "Raster Image" thing link the image to the original file.

Does anyone know how can I do that?

Thanks in advance.

Have you tried opening the image in something similar to Paint, select the part(s) of the image you require. Hit Copy, then go to AutoCAD, and hit Paste ?

I did, aparently, for some weird reason, any picture I try to paste on the drawing looses a lot of color quality and resolution. On the other way, attached pictures stay exactly the way they are.

can't you Bind a pciture? Just like you can bind a x-ref? Haven't tried it myself but it sounds logical...

i don't think you can unfortunately - not when I 've tried on versions upto 07. It would be useful, though.

I have a short deadline on this and I'll have to go with the paste special thing, thats the only solution, even the picture being completely messed up.. =/

Thanks for your concern people. (:

Can't you just go "Insert -? Raster image"?

Unfortunately that is how it works in ACAD. (or doesn't work)

There are 4 options described here:

In my personal experiences this comes when copying an image from another document. Can you try getting the original file, saved as a stand-alone file, and then try inserting that.

I get great results when using photographs in CAD. But when I take them from a Word document I get purple blemishes and all sorts.

Basically, it's all to do with the filetype from the experiences I've had.

Good luck.
