fuccaro Posted May 30, 2024 Posted May 30, 2024 Hello Forum! I wrote a Lisp program for someone and I presented the results in a table. To be sure that the text will look just perfect I created two text styles, one for the table heading and one for the content. But there was a big surprise when running the Lisp: there is no Times New Roman font on his computer (?!). The file timesbi.ttf was not found. Now the problem is solved, but I’d like to ask, is there anyone in this forum without that font on her/his computer? And more important: is there good looking reliable font? -not talking about txt.shx! Quote
SLW210 Posted May 30, 2024 Posted May 30, 2024 What version of Windows? On my Windows 10 at work the file is shown as C:\WINDOWS\FONTS\TIMES.TTF. (the TIMESBI.TTF would be the Bold Italic.) Does MS Office install that font as well? Though it does show as a regular Windows font, but, different versions and languages might be different IIRC. Isn't it a Serif font? There seems to be some Serif fonts that are near Identical. I have this page bookmarked Font List Windows 10 - Typography | Microsoft Learn Here is the Wiki for Windows fonts, List of typefaces included with Microsoft Windows - Wikipedia Not sure how close you want, but I use Verdana a lot for that style font. Probably unintentional deletion or I have heard of "suspected" Windows updates removing fonts. Quote
