Can't publish multiple pages in AutoCAD 2006

I am having a problem using the Publish feature in AutoCAD 2006. I have a network printer with it's on-board print server. It's an HP Laserjet 8000. I created a .pc3 file using the Windows printer driver that is installed on the computer (Windows XP).

I can plot a single sheet just fine, and when I add multiple sheets to the Publish list, it will only print the first file on the list.

I tried setting the plotter in the page setup to both the windows printer driver, and the .pc3 file that I created with the windows printer driver.

I found that there is a bug with 2008 and 2009 where PUBLISHCOLLATE being set to 0 solves the problem. However, there doesn't seem to be such a variable in 2006, and the "Collate" option is set to "None" in the plotter configuration.

Creat a page setup in another drawing. Then populate the publish dialog and ctrl+a to highlight all the files. Then drop down the arrow for the top file and import that page setup. It will apply that page setup to all drawings.

See if this works.

I couldn't tell if that's what you were already doing. I'm tired and fatigued, sorry if so.

Yeah. The first drawing already has the page setup in it, so I am selecting all of the drawings in the list, and setting the page setup with the dropdown menu.

I just tried what you said, wannabe. It worked. Why is this different?

Sounds like you weren't actually applying a page setup to all the files you wanted to publish. Whereas my method is selecting them all and applying the same page setup.

Try it again, but only select one file and do each drop down arrow one at a time to select the imported page setup.

Glad it was an easy one.

This is correct. I met with the CAD technician later that day and it turns out he is not applying the page setup properly to any of his drawings.

I am coming back to this thread. It turns out that on another computer with AutoCAD 2006 will publish all files in the list just fine as long as the first drawing has the correct page setup in it, and even if the others don't. I can select all in the list, and use the drop down menu to select one of the setups that are in the first drawing. I don't have to use the "Import..." option. The plot log shows that all sheets used the page setup from the first drawing, and all is good.

Why doesn't this work with the same drawings on his computer?

Hi guys,

I've been having this same problem. It used to work fine and it was particularly useful to make multi-page pdf's when making record sets of drawings. Now it inexplicably doesn't work, and I've tried every different solution I've found online, including the solutions mentioned above.

I've tried importing the setting into each different file separately and publishing, and I've tried using one file with the proper setting and applied it to all the files as mentioned above, with no improvement. I've also tried everything with publishcollate @ 1 and 0, with no change. I've tried publishing with the user profile set to > and my personal profile as well. What's going on here?! Any help would be very useful. Thanks!

PS I'm running AutoCAD 2008

Just a shot in the dark:lol: ... are you mixing Model tabs with Layout tabs in the publish list? The page setups between the 2 are not compatible :glare:

Not sure what's wrong. I haven't come across this problem in either my Vanilla 2008 or Vanilla / ACA 2011 ... or any other previous versions I've used.
