Tiger Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 some clarification here - you have a drawing with an x-ref in? The problem occurs when someone else tries to use the drawing that is x-refed? Or does the poblem happend when you import an x-ref? Is it just one specific file or any x-ref? Quote
ashram82 Posted March 21, 2009 Author Posted March 21, 2009 sir the user (robert) is the one who is using the autocad, and he is just opening his xfref file from his pc and not from the network, and everytime he opens it his pc hangs up and when i check the task manager, autocad.exe is eating his whole 2gb memory. have you encounter this kind of problem sir? ashram82 Posted March 23, 2009 Author Posted March 23, 2009 7mb dwg file and 5mb xref total of 12 mb Quote
Cad64 Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Try running an AUDIT on the drawing file and the xref and fix any errors that are found. Also, PURGE both drawings to decrease file size. Quote
Tiger Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Is it just the one file? Can he open AutoCAD normally with a brand new file? Can the damaged file be opened normally from another computer? IF that is the case, then (after Audit and Purge) I'd copy-paste everything to a new file. Quote
