svorgodne Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 Can anybody tell me please what are AEC objects? Where can I find information about them? And most important of all how can I completely get rid of them? I m working with AutoCAD 2006 and I have installed OEHotfix.exe and service Pack. Apparently this topic is a little hard to track since I have just googled What are AEC Objects AEC Objects definition and so on... and there is not a clear answer or definition. Thank you very much in advance Quote

Thank you very much in advance AEC objects refer to the "smarter" objects used in the Autocad Verticals dealing with Architecture,Engineering,Construction. If I got the meaning right lol. You can download the object enablers on the Autodesk website if you wish. As for cleaning them out, I am not 100% sure how to do that. Quote
Chris77 Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 Yes, get the Object enabeler that is compatable to your version if you dont have Architecture so you can read and semi-edit these AEC objects. ADT Object Enabler 2006 for AutoCAD 2006, LT 2006, Map 3D 2006, 3ds max 7, VIZ 2006 (Architectural Desktop 1/2/2i/3/3.3/2004/2005/2006 runtime) http://www.cadforum.cz/cadforum_en/download.asp?cat=2 Recently I ran into a problem to read Archvision RPC objects in 2007 because they were in 2008 format but there was a workaround by going into the multi-block compenents to extract the 3d model or the 2d views(top front right left back side) of it. When I am sending files I make sure to "AECTOACAD" this will let anyone using Vanilla AutoCAD to view it normal. Quote
Raggi_Thor Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 I tried that command AECTOACAD in AutoCAD 2010 with some AEC object enablers loaded. However, doors are not exported as blocks, but as lines and arcs. Is it an option for that, to keep doors as blocks? Quote
