ReMark Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 Take a look at the bottom of this page. See where it says Similar Threads? Take a peak at the one entitled "Extruding handrail profile along a 3D path problems". You might also want to check out the other threads as well. Simply put...the question has been asked and answered. Never underestimate the power of a search either. That option is available at the top of the page. If you are still having problems then return and ask a question that is specific to the problem. Quote
sceejays Posted November 14, 2007 Author Posted November 14, 2007 many thanks for your advice i have looked at the simlar threads but at the moment im still stumped im completly new at 3d and i can't get my spline to go up in a spiral on top of each rail which is the pink line in "extruding handrail profile along a 3d path problem" i can't even do the 3d path it's probally very easy to do but unless you know the answer it's hard but many thanks anyway Quote
ReMark Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 Did you take a look in the AutoLISP archive (this site) at the helix LISP routine? It might be to your benefit. Quote
ReMark Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 Here's a link to Spiral.LSP created prior to 2004. It could be of some use as well. http://www.cadpanel.com/for_downloads/autolisp_downloads.htm#Draw%20Helixes%20with%20a%20dialog%20box Quote
Arnie Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 If you can , try to upgrade to cad 2007. it comes with helix that might be to your advantage Quote
BIGAL Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 Like Re Mark I posted a soloution some time ago but here it is again in brief a spiral stair case is basicly a single tread copied raised and rotated the only tricky bit is the hand rail. If I remember right you can cheat on the hand rail by drawing an arc then rotate3d to the correct rise angle trim to equal the correct angle and put on top of a hand rail post. Its not mathmatically correct but looks correct. CA3TREAD.DWG Quote
