Randy Chard Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 In Inventor 2009 when I create a Detail View of a circular part how does one then dimension the radial aspects without the origin datum attached. I have attached a pdf of the drawing for clarification. The question above applies to Details A and B. Thanks in advance for any help given. 816-151_Cover Plate Extension_RevB.pdf Quote
JD Mather Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 You might want to ask this question in the Inventor section of the forum. Quote
Randy Chard Posted March 31, 2009 Author Posted March 31, 2009 Dtkel: I understand what you are showing me but I require that the dimensions are associative. I am not sure how, using your method, that they will be associative. Quote
dtkell Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 Could you not put your dimension on a different layer and freeze it in the plan and section view? Quote
shift1313 Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 does it not let you dimension the detailed view? Quote
JD Mather Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 Could you not put your dimension on a different layer and freeze it in the plan and section view? Wrong program - Inventor doesn't fool with this archaic method. That is why I suggested he post in the correct forum. AutoCAD solutions may not answer Inventor questions. Quote
Cad64 Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 This question has been moved to the Inventor section and merged with duplicate thread. Quote
Randy Chard Posted April 1, 2009 Author Posted April 1, 2009 Now that it is in the proper forum does anybody know how to dimension the detail as shown above? Quote
